Mahbubnagar: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from the district Nagam Janardhan Reddy slammed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for deliberately delaying the works of Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation (PRRLI) project and rendering step-motherly treatment to the district.

Nagam said only 50 per cent of works on PRRLI have been completed so far. “Though the State government has allocated Rs 13,000 crores for the project, only Rs 200-300 crore have been spent so far. This shows government’s grave neglect shown towards the project,” Nagam felt.

Alleging that the State government was deliberately delaying the project on the pretext of court cases and land acquisition, Nagam said the government was not having a proper strategy and going arbitrarily to acquire land because of which they were facing opposition from the people.

“The government is doing grave injustice to the people by redesigning the project and diverting the waters from PRRLI and depriving the people of their rightful share of 2 tmcft water,” he said.
