He inspected the Mother and Child Health Care Centre here on Friday and observed the Children ward and Out Patient (OP) ward.
During his rounds, the Collector enquired the women in the wards about the medical services being provided to the children and ordered the doctors to shift the remaining wards to the new Care Centre on war footing.
He ordered the Government Hospital Superintendent to take steps for shifting delivery ward to the newly Care Centre immediately.
He questioned the staff about why there were no lights in the labour room and ordered them to arrange lights immediately along with deploying staff nurses. District Medical and Health Officer Dr Rajesham, Dr Sridhar and Dr Aleem were present along with others.
