Bhongir: The incessant rains that lashed the district brought cheers on the faces of farmers as the crops that were withering were brought back to life with the sudden rains. As per the official information, the district recorded 1,061.32 mm rainfall in the last 11 days as against the normal rainfall of 730 mm, which is which is 84 per cent excess.

While Rajapet, Bhongir, Bommalaramaram, Pochampally and Narayanpur mandals recorded normal rainfall with 46.29mm, 46.25, 39.24, 40.05 and 34.24 mm respectively, excess rainfall was recorded in Motakonduru, Yadagirigutta, Bibinagar, Chouttuppal, Ramannapet, Valigonda, Athmakur(M), Mothukur and Addagudur.

Motakonduru recorded highest rainfall of 149.8 mm as against normal rainfall of 52.8 mm which is 184 per cent excess than normal rainfall. It is followed by Addaguduru mandal with a rainfall of 126.4 mm against 45.1mm which is 180 per cent excess than normal.

Meanwhile, Aler mandal with 31.4 mm against normal rainfall of 55 mm and Turkapally mandal with only 13.9 mm against 54.3 mm were the only mandals that recorded deficient rains.
