The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) celebrated the 71st year of independent India by hoisting the tricolor flag and singing patriotic songs.

Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) celebrated the 71st year of independent India by hoisting the tricolor flag and singing patriotic songs.

A large gathering of more than a 1000 people, consisting of teaching and non-teaching staff, and student community, participated in the events. nnouncing a host of new initiatives, the Vice Chancellor of the English and Foreign Languages University, Prof E Suresh Kumar, in his address to the gathering declared that the University primarily intends to introduce the concept of “University Social Responsibility” (USR), along the lines of “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR).

As a part of this, the University would soon launch free online courses for acquiring functional proficiency in English, Sanskrit, Hindi, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Turkish, etc.

For the academic community, the University has plans to disseminate research through introduction of seven international e-journals. And, for the benefit of the University student community, an innovative programme called ‘Meet a Leading Light’ (MALL) has been introduced where students get to interact with eminent personalities who have made a mark in their social/ professional lives, on the University campus.
