Mega rally espouses national integration
About 20,000 people belonging to various sections have participated in the mega rally, organised by the police department, under the title ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’, for national integration here on Monday.
Peddapalli: About 20,000 people belonging to various sections have participated in the mega rally, organised by the police department, under the title ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’, for national integration here on Monday.
District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal and MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy had inaugurated the rally at Government Junior College.
The rally returned to the starting point after covering Pragathi Nagar, Amarnagar, Masjid Chowrastha and Kaman bazar, with the participants showing national flags.
Speaking on the occasion, the in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy said everyone, without forgetting the sacrifices by many freedom fighters for Indian independence, should strive hard to keep the country united. Both parents and teachers must inculcate patriotism among the children from childhood.
The mega rally under the title ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ is a unique one held in Peddapalli with large number of people including children. The rally attracted the attention of the world by entering its name in Wonder Book of Records, he added.
Appreciating the efforts made by the police officials in organising the rally, Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal said the rally was held to commemorate the great leaders, who sacrificed their lives to get independence to the county. He also appreciated the people for participating in the rally.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijayender Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sindhu Sharma, Jaipur Kavitha, Bellampally Sathish, Circle Inspector Adla Mahesh, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Jagadish and Municipal Chairman L Rajaiah were present along with the students of various educational institutions.
