Hanamkonda: The State government has been making committed efforts to fulfil its election promise of offering one lakh jobs to unemployed in Telangana, Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari asserted.

Soon vacancies in education department and other government departments would be filled up. However, the process of filling up vacancies has been facing hurdles as some sections were intentionally knocking the doors of courts, he added.

Nonetheless, the government going ahead by overcoming such hurdles, Srihari said in his address at the 71st Independence Day celebrations in Hanamkonda on Tuesday. Telangana stood at top in the country with 21 per cent growth and it augurs well for the State’s development.

A total of 3, 55, 036 acres in the erstwhile Warangal district would be irrigated with the renovation of 4,289 tanks have been taken under Mission Kakatiya. Revival of Sri Rama Sagar Project (SRSP) would address the irrigation needs of the farmers in Warangal district, he stated.

All the houses in the district would get potable water through the taps under 'Mission Bhagiratha' by end of this year. All the students studying in the government schools in Warangal urban district would get quality mid-day meal through Akshaya Patra foundation from next the year, Srihari informed. Mega Textile Park, which would be set up soon in Warangal rural district, helps to provide direct and indirect employment to nearly 1.15 lakh people, the Deputy CM added.

Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary speaking after hoisting national flag at Bhupalpally said Rs 100 crore would be spent towards arrangements for biennial Medaram Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara, which would be celebrated from January 31 to February 3, 2018. Explaining the developmental and welfare initiatives by the State government, the Speaker said Jayashanker Bhupalpally district would be developed a model district in the State.

MLC P Rajesjhwar Reddy hoisted the national flag at Warangal rural district Independence Day celebrations while MLC Bodakunti Venkateswarlu hoisted the flag at Jangaon district. Special Chief Secretary BP Acharya has unfurled the national flag at Mahabubabad district headquarters.

Warangal Mayor N Narender speaking after hoisting the national flag at Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation office, said that they ensured jobs to 2,200 unemployed youth in 30 private companies by holding job mela.

Children from various educational institutions presented colourful cultural programmes at Independence Day celebrated with patriotic fervour. Assets were distributed to the beneficiaries and Freedom fighters were felicitated on the occasion.
