Nizamabad: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Wednesday urged Nizamabad District Collector Yogita Rana to take action against nefarious elements, who manhandled the Government Junior College Principal Yaqeen Ali, for hoisting the national flag on Tuesday with shoes on, and also attempting to disrupt communal harmony in the village.
They pointed out that the nefarious elements spared a police official, who also hoisted the flag along with the Principal with shoes on.
Submitting a memorandum to the Collector, the IUML general secretary Sharzeel Parvez said that the communal forces did it out of hostility towards the Principal and out of religious discrimination.
Had the Principal violated the flag code, the communal elements should have reported it to the higher authorities Instead of taking the law into their hands.
Describing the action of the miscreants as premeditated criminal conspiracy and is due to religious prejudices, the miscreants waited for an opportunity to humiliate the Principal.
Therefore, the IUML urged the Collector for an urgent action. Otherwise, it would set a bad precedent for others to emulate, he added.
