He hoisted the national flag at the 71st Independence Day celebrations, held on a grand note in the premises of Government Junior College on Tuesday morning.
After receiving the guard of honour, the Minister said the government is striving hard for the wellbeing of the people by introducing various welfare schemes in the State.
He explained the people about the progress of various projects taken up by the government for achieving Bangaru Telangana along with the welfare schemes introduced for the betterment of the people.
Several developmental activities were taken up for the all-round development of Sircilla district. The government is giving orders for manufacturing handloom clothes to provide employment to handloom weavers.
Land settlements and encroachments were stopped to a great extent and necessary measures were taken to prevent anti-social activities during the TRS tenure, he added.
Tableax of various departments that were displayed and the cultural programmes performed by students of different educational institutions on the occasion have attracted people.
Later the IT Minister K R Rama Rao handed over appreciation certificates to the employees, who received awards for discharging their duties perfectly.
District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet, Vemulawada MLA Chennamneni Ramesh Babu, Joint Collector Yasmine Basha and District Revenue Officer Shyam Lal Prasad were present along with others.
