Warangal cops bag Haritha Mitra award
The Warangal Police Commissionerate has bagged ‘Telangana Haritha Mitra Award for 2017, a token of recognition of its contribution in increasing the green cover. The Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu, has received the award from Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari on Independence Day on Tuesday.
Hanamkonda: The Warangal Police Commissionerate has bagged ‘Telangana Haritha Mitra Award for 2017, a token of recognition of its contribution in increasing the green cover. The Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu, has received the award from Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari on Independence Day on Tuesday.
It may be noted here that the Warangal Police has planted more than 11 lakh saplings during the phase-II of Haritha Haram last year.
Besides the award, Sudheer Babu, who was instrumental in taking up plantation drive on a massive note, also received Rs 2 lakh cash award from the Deputy CM at the Police Parade Grounds.
Later, the Commissioner handed over the Rs 2 lakh cheque to the Police Family Welfare Association. Central zone DCP Venugopal Rao, ACPs Vidyasagar and Muralidhar, Hasanparthy Inspector P Kishan were among others who hailed the decision of the Commissioner. Earlier, Sudheer Babu hoisted the tricolor flag and received guard of honour from the Commissionerate police.
