Mancherial: District Collector RV Karnan on Wednesday said that vaccine will be administered to children in the age group of nine months to 15 years against the incidence of Rubella and Measles from August 17 to September 25.

Reviewing the arrangements with the district officials for the vaccination programme through video conference, Karnan said that mandal development officers, medical officers, mandal education officers, welfare officials, anganwadi employees with coordination should ensure that over two lakh children will be vaccinated against the incidence of the two diseases.

In the first two weeks, school children should be administered vaccines with the help of the elected people’s representatives, he said adding that the medical and health department made all arrangements for the vaccination programme.

The vaccine should be administered in about 1,000 schools to meet the deadlines. In the third week, vaccines should be administered to children through 732 anganwadi centers. He clarified that the vaccination programme would not produce any side effects and if any health problem surfaces the medical and health staff would take good care of the disease.

District Medical and Health Officer Dr Bhishma, DEO Ravikant Reddy, District Welfare Officer Ravoof Khan and others took part in the programme.
