6 students fall sick after vaccination in Mandamarri
Six students of Little Flower School in Mandamarri town fell sick on Thursday soon after they were administered Measles and Rubella vaccine.
Mandamarri (Mancherial): Six students of Little Flower School in Mandamarri town fell sick on Thursday soon after they were administered Measles and Rubella vaccine.
As they fell unconscious, the ANM and Asha workers examined them and shifted them to Area Hospital for treatment. The school has a strength of 800 students.
The State government had launched the vaccination programme on Thursday morning. The families of the six students alleged that their wards fell sick after the Asha workers administered the Rubella vaccine, in the absence of doctors.
They also accused the officials of not testing the vaccine before being administered to the students.
The DMHO and doctors concerned pulled up the ANMs and Asha workers, asking them as to why the students were sent to the hospital.
