Warangal: The Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari has launched Measles and Rubella vaccination programme here on Thursday at Girl’s Residential School at Hasanparthy in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the State government has been laying special emphasis on the health of the students studying at the schools. The children were an asset to the State. It was planned to prevent Measles and Rubella by the year 2020.

The District Collector, Amrapali Kata, said during the past one month awareness programmes were conducted on the vaccination programme. Parents should ensure that their children aged 9 months to 15 years would be administered the vaccine.

District Medical and Health Officer Dr B Harish Raj informed that the vaccine would be administered to 2, 67, 000 in 2729 sessions across the district.

ZP chairperson G Padma, MLA A Ramesh, Mayor N Narender and others were present.
