Kothagudem: Administration of the Measles-Rubella vaccine is essential for students to protect them from serious diseases, said District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu here on Thursday.
Inaugurating the Measles-Rubella vaccination programme at St Mary’s School here, he stated that children aged between nine and 15 years should utilise the programme.
He said the vaccine centres were available in all government and private schools, besides Anganwadi centres. The Collector said the programme concludes on September 25 when certificates would be given to the students.
He urged the Health department staff to give wide publicity and create awareness about the programme. Municipal Chairperson P Geetha, ZPTC member Vidhya, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Dayanandha Swamy, DEO Hayagrivachary were present.
