Warangal: A high-level delegation from Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) of South Korea has visited the upcoming Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Geesugonda mandal of Warangal Rural district on Thursday.

The delegation, led by the Federation Chairman Kihak Sung was given a warm welcome by Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) TSIIC MD E Venkata Narasimha Reddy and District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil and others.

Sung and his team interacted with the officials and inquired about the facilities such as road connectivity, electricity and public transport planned at the park. It was suggested that instead of spending funds on civil constructions, focus should be laid on employment generation and product manufacturing.

The park should be developed in such a manner that higher profits would be earned with lesser investment, Sung opined while discussing the plan of the park. He wanted two-lane road in between the blocks in the park.

Transport system, power supply and water would attract investors, he added. Later Sung and his team inspected the works of local weavers. Impressed with Kothawada dhurries, Sung asked the weavers about the process of making dhurries.

The hardworking weavers should be provided with a market within the textile park and their work has to be publicised to support them.

The Collector Jeevan Patil explained that facilities are being provided at the park. He said a six-lane outer ring road is coming up. It was planned to ensure supply of 250 mld water through the SRSP canal every day and a 250 MW sub-station would be set up to meet power requirements.

The TSIIC Managing Director Narasimha Reddy told presspersons that Textiles Minister K Taraka Rama Rao invited Sung, who is also the Chairman of Youngone Corporation to explore investment possibilities in Textile Park.
