Shaik A Sharif, a seasoned photographer from the temple town of Bhadrachalam, bagged the Best Image Award for his ‘Colourful Smile’ photograph in the Colour section in the competition organised by the India International Photographic Council. Likewise, in the Photo Journalism section, he won the Certificate of Merit Award for his photograph titled ‘No Chance’.

Bhadrachalam: Shaik A Sharif, a seasoned photographer from the temple town of Bhadrachalam, bagged the Best Image Award for his ‘Colourful Smile’ photograph in the Colour section in the competition organised by the India International Photographic Council. Likewise, in the Photo Journalism section, he won the Certificate of Merit Award for his photograph titled ‘No Chance’.

At a colourful function organised at Amaravati Cultural Centre in Vijayawada on Friday, he was presented with the awards by OP Sharma, Chairman Emeritus of India International Photographic Council. Sharif also secured a Certificate of Merit for eight more photographs.

Earlier, he secured many awards from the USA-based Image College Society for his photographs during the World Photography Day celebrations.

The then AP Government honoured him with the Best Photographer Award in 2013, which he received from the then Minister Ramreddy Venkata Reddy.

Internationally acclaimed photographers Rajan Babu, Raghu Rai, Viswender Reddy, Sudhakar Reddy and others also complimented his photographic skills in the past. Sharif expressed happiness over receiving the international award.
