The Buddhist Society of India has announced here on Friday that it would conduct the ‘Bouddha Maha Sabha’ on Sunday at the Deeksha Bhumi Maidan in Kaghaznagar town to promote and highlight the importance of the Buddhist religion across the Telangana State.

Asifabad: The Buddhist Society of India has announced here on Friday that it would conduct the ‘Bouddha Maha Sabha’ on Sunday at the Deeksha Bhumi Maidan in Kaghaznagar town to promote and highlight the importance of the Buddhist religion across the Telangana State.

The motto behind this programme is to promote Buddhism and constitute the State and district level committees which will be taking the charge of promoting the religion and protecting the rights of the Buddhists within their jurisdiction. The selections for the committees will be done in the presence and vigilance of the Central Chief of the Society Jaison Bodh and Prabhakar Namdevkar.

Meanwhile, the committee has appealed all the Buddhists across the Asifabad district and the State to be a part of the mega event and get the benefits of the programme.

Dr. B R Ambedkar has established the Buddhist Society in the year 1954-55 and since, then it has been successfully working towards the welfare of the Buddhist community. Now, the society works under the chairmanship of Meera Ambedkar, central advisor Prakash Ambedkar and Central Office In-charge Bheemrao Ambedkar.
