Warangal Urban: District Collector Amrapali Kata has asked the teachers to inculcate scientific temperament among the students.

She inaugurated a six-day intensive training programme for tribal students on science and technology at Warangal Regional Science Centre of Telangana State Council of Science and Technology (TSCOST) in association with Vignan Prasar of Union Ministry of Science and Technology, in Hanamkonda on Friday.

The collector asked the students to develop the habit of probing to learn new things, besides their academics and appreciated the organisers for conducting the programme. She told the students to spread the knowledge they gained during the training.

EFS&T department joint secretary and TSCOST member secretary G Krishnaveni advised the students to make use of the training programme and boost their scientific knowledge. Eminent scientist from union department of science and technology TV Venkateswararan delivering the keynote address explained the students about space research and related subjects.

Vignan Prasar project officer Irfan Begum, the science centre project officer Sirpa Srinivas, resource persons B Shyamsunder Reddy, K Ramgopal Reddy, P Suresh Babu, P Madhavi and others were present.

About 100 students from 100 different schools from 10 districts of Telangana state are participating in the programme along with 10 guide teachers. Resource persons would sensitise the students on recent advances in nanotechnology, bio-technology, information technology, Space Science and others.
