The annual general-body elections of the Merchants Association were held in Kaghaznagar town on Friday. Almost all the businessmen across the town came and voted for their new chairman and various other positions. K Venkatramana was declared as the new president of the Association whereas Hariprasad Soni was elected as the Treasurer and Praveen Jain as the new PRO for the year, 2017-18.

Asifabad: The annual general-body elections of the Merchants Association were held in Kaghaznagar town on Friday. Almost all the businessmen across the town came and voted for their new chairman and various other positions. K Venkatramana was declared as the new president of the Association whereas Hariprasad Soni was elected as the Treasurer and Praveen Jain as the new PRO for the year, 2017-18.

Ch Satyanarayana, Mangilal Asawa, Vijay Kumar, Kamal Kishore Bang, Nand Kishore Jaju and Ramesh Loya were elected as members of the chief advisory committee.

B Muthanna, Khairat Hussain and Vaidya Balakrishna were elected as the vice-president. P Srinivas, Pawan Baldeva, K Ravinder as joint secretaries and Mukesh Khatode, Jugal Asawa, S Ravi, Syed Taj, Subhash Mantri, Vivek bajaj, Namdev, Eshwar, D Laxman, Prashanth, Hardik, Zakir, Mahaveer Soni, Om Asawa, Rachakonda Surendar and Vickey Jain were elected as the working committee members.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, K Venkatramana said that the town has seen some ups and downs since the closure of the paper mill with no hopes of reopening it again. It was now the duty of the merchants to make the market garner good accolades and help in the development of Kaghaznagar town, he said.
