Hanamkonda: BC Welfare Association president and MLA Ryaga Krishnaiah has called upon the community members to collectively fight for their rights. He said that the time has come for the members of backward classes to take to the streets in order to ensure their share in the political power and nation’s wealth. He urged the community members to join hands cutting across the political lines for fight for social justice.

Krishnaiah attended a meeting of LIC employees in Hanamkonda on Sunday. Speaking to presspersons, he said he had recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised him about the injustice caused to BCs and asked him to do justice to the community.

Even after 70 years passed since Indian Independence, the backward classes were still deprived of their rightful share in education, employment, political power, industrial sector and social recognition. The BCs are working hard and creating assets to the nation but they could not get their share, he lamented. Krishnaiah felt that since the PM belongs to BC community, he could ensure justice to the community members.

Hence all the members in the community in the State should stage a united fight as they fought for the cause of separate Telangana. “We could do wonders if we fight for a year to protect our rights,” he said, adding “If we don’t fight now, the future would become miserable for us.”
