Luxettipet: The campaign on clay Ganesh idols by HMTV and the Hans India evoked overwhelming response from all sections of society.
As many as 3,000 people including local police, students of various schools and colleges under the leadership of HMTV and The Hans India took out a rally from the Tahsildar’s office to Utkoor Junction on Thursday. They raised slogans in favour of installing clay idols.
The officials of various departments lauded on the programme. District Education Officer Ravi Kanth called upon everyone to take part in protecting the environment. Clay Ganesh idols have been distributed by Satya Sai Seva Samiti.
Later, at a meeting held at the Government Girls High School, several people lauded the efforts put by HMTV and the Hans India for the past two months to sensitise people. They welcomed many such programmes.
Mandal Education Officer Ravinder, Circle-Inspector Pratap, Additional Public Prosecutor G Kiran, District Cooperative Marketing Society Chairman K Srinivas Reddy, ZPTC member Chenchu Chinnaiah, MPP Kotla Chandraiah, Sarpanch Sumati Santhi Kumar, Sub-Inspector Sammaiah, TRS mandal president P Srinivas Goud, Press Club President M Srinivas, MPTC Sahid Ali, Teachers and Students of various schools were among those present at the meeting.
