Nalgonda: The SC, ST Upadhyaya Sangam (SCSTUS) state president Kompelli Bikshapathi quoting the Apex Court decision on pension, urged the State government to withdraw Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and revive the old pension scheme. On Monday, he attended as chief guest to a protest programme by SCSTUS at Collectorate.

Addressing the gathering, Bikshapathi alleged that both the NDA and UPA governments were responsible for the present mess of CPS.

Taking the advantage of Centre’s policies, the government of united Andhra Pradesh had issued Government Orders 653, 654 and 655 in 2004, cancelling the old pension system and introducing CPS which was unfavorable to the interests of government employees, he added.

Meanwhile, the members of the Union displayed placards and raised slogans in support of their demands. Organisation leaders Medi Ramadasu, Devadasu and others participated in the protest.
