Government Railway Police (GRP) have seized 82 kilograms of dry ganja at Warangal railway station on Monday and arrested four persons in connection with the case.

Warangal: Government Railway Police (GRP) have seized 82 kilograms of dry ganja at Warangal railway station on Monday and arrested four persons in connection with the case.

Inspector of Railway Police, Warangal, J Venkata Ratnam informed the presspersons that the substance was seized on Konark Express (train No. 11020) from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai CST, when it arrived at Warangal railway station.

The worth of ganja was said to be Rs 8 lakhs. Along with the substance, the police have also seized three mobile phones and Rs 27,300 cash from one male and three female accused in the case.

The accused were identified as Rani Raju Nayudu, Prathibha Raju Nayudu, Ravi Mariyappan Devar and Arthi Ravi Devar, all belonging to a family and hailing from Maharashtra.

A case in this connection was registered in Cr.No.146/2017 under section 8(c) read with 20(b) of NDPS Act and the accused were produced before the court for judicial remand, the inspector informed.
