Mahbubnagar: Soon the poor patients in Mahbubnagar district would be able to get medical facilities right at their homes at nominal prices, thanks to the Idea Company that has distributed four Cube Medical Tests, worth Rs 60,000, to Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Marikal, Dhanwada and Narayanapet on Tuesday.

While inaugurating the medical testing cube facility in Marikal mandal, MP Jitender Reddy said, “With Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao giving priority to health and education, the government hospitals have undergone a sea change in the last three years.

Unlike earlier, now people have started preferring government hospitals to that of private. With the launch of advanced technology in the PHCs, very soon we are planning to provide all kinds of infrastructure for carrying out tests of the poor patients at home.”

Meanwhile, two testing cubes would be installed at Marikal PHC followed by one each at Narayanpet and Hanwada PHCs. The ANMs and Asha workers in the villages would be trained to get hands on experience to operate the advanced medical testing equipments, the MP said.

Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Ronald Rose said, “Such kind of advanced facility was first launched in Bhupalapally of Warangal district and we are fortunate enough that Mahabubnagar district is the second to have such kind of advanced facility which would be very useful to the poor patients for getting the medical tests at nominal cost.”

Using the medical cube testing facility, more than 32 medical tests can be conducted at very nominal costs. Medical tests for blood pressure, sugar, malaria, dengue, hepatitis etc can be done using the Cube Medical facility.

“The district administration has launched the advanced equipment in three mandals on pilot basis. This will be further launched in all the remaining mandals in a phased manner,” informed the Collector.
