Khammam: The Telangana Rythu Sangham has demanded the government to carry out the land survey with the help of revenue officials but not by forming farmer committees, which hold no accountability.

Speaking at a meeting held with the representatives of various farmer unions on the topic ‘Rythu Sanghalu: Rythula Kosama, TRS Kosama’ at Sundarayya Bavan in Khammam on Wednesday, state joint secretary of the Sangham Nunna Nageshwar Rao alleged that the TRS government was establishing the farmer committees only for the sake of votes.

Alleging that the TRS government was trying to dissolve the revenue system by forming nominated farmer committees, Rao said by forming such committees the government was trying to get supremacy over farmers.

“In the name of projects, the government had grabbed the valuable farming lands of many farmers across the State. There is a danger of grabbing of cultivable lands from farmers in the name of land survey,” he opined.

Stating that the TRS party was forming farmer panels keeping eye on 2019 polls, Rao appealed to the farmers and the representatives of the various people organisations to oppose the government move and teach a befitting lesson to the government by creating awareness among the farming community over the establishment of farmer panels.

Sangham president Bandi Ramesh, representatives of various farmers unions Madineni Ramesh, Siddineni Kotaiah, Malidu Nageshwar Rao, Jaladi Sangaiah, Bonthu Rambabu, Zilla Parishad member Jiauddin, Kanneganti Narasaiah, P C Veeraswamy, Gurram Achhaiah, Adapa Rama Kotaiah, Janaki Ramulu and Banka Mallaiah attended the meeting.
