He was speaking after a surprise inspection of Kagaznagar town police station and seeking details of the ‘bundobast’ for the celebrations.

Asifabad: District Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh on Tuesday called for fool-proof security for Ganesh immersion and ‘Shoba Yatra’ for the Ganapathi Navaratri celebrations. He was speaking after a surprise inspection of Kagaznagar town police station and seeking details of the ‘bundobast’ for the celebrations.

The SP inspected the surroundings of the police station and the working style of the staff. He advised the residents of Kagaznagar rural and town areas not to use DJs and fire crackers, which causes inconvenience to the public, during the Shoba Yatra. Singh directed the administration to deploy expert swimmers, install lighting, generators and cranes at the nimajjanam spots. The cranes should be made available in advance.

He cautioned against any scope for communal/unwarranted incidents, by taking precautionary measures. The SP advised the department personnel to cooperate with the people in ensuring orderly and peaceful conduct of various festivals. Among those present during the inspection were Kagaznagar DSP Habib Khan, Kagaznagar rural town CI Venkateshwar, rural CI Prasada Rao, town SI Prabhakar Reddy and rural SI Rajesh Kumar.
