Cops return 3 lakh to rightful owner

Wanaparthy: The local police on Thursday proved their honesty by handing over Rs 3 lakh forgotten by some people in a hotel to their counterparts in Jadcherla.

The local police, who were on their way to Hyderabad for the Ganesh bundobast duty on Thursday, found out Rs 3 lakh cash in a bag in a restaurant while having tea near Jadcherla.

After enquiry, they found out that the owners of the bag had left the bag by mistake and handed over the bag to Jadcherla Circle Inspector. The owners of the cash returned to the hotel and enquired with the management, who in turn, told them that the cash bags were handed over to the police. They approached the CI and collected their bags.

They thanked the police. Upon getting information, Superintendent of Police Rohini Priyadarshini praised the department personnel for their honesty.
