Grand welcome to body builder

Mancherial: Gopu Srinivas hailing from the district, bagged bronze medal in juniors’ category in body building competitions held at Seoul in South Korea.

He was given a grand welcome by the locals, sports persons, people’s representatives and youth at the railway station here on Thursday. BJP leaders Malla Reddy, Munna Raj Sisodiya and Venkanna felicitated Gopu Srinivas on the occasion. Later, a rally was taken out in the town.

Speaking on the occasion, Gopu Srinivas said his parents encouraged him despite of their dire poverty.

He thanked sports lovers and donors, particularly Devapur Cement factory owner, District Collector R V Karnan, Singareni Collieries management and others for helping him through his journey.
