He, as the chief guest, inaugurated the programme of ‘Sankalpamtho Sakaram’ by lighting a lamp, organised by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at Podupu Bhavan here on Wednesday.

The Additional Director of agricultural department made everyone to do a ‘Sankalp Sakaram’ pledge on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector the State government is also striving hard to supply more water - double or triple times more than the present quantity being supplied - to the farming sector.

The price of the yield will fall if all farmers cultivate only one type of crop. Instead the farmers must form crop colonies and must cultivate different types of crops to get maximum benefits, he suggested.

Agriculture department Deputy Additional Director R Anil Kumar said ‘farmer coordination committees’ will be formed from September 1 to 9 at village, mandal, district and State-levels to bring all the farmers present across the State under one group. With the coordination of these committees, land survey will be conducted from September 15 to December 15, according to farmers and as per revenue villages under agricultural and revenue departments.

Depending on the survey, every farmer will be sanctioned a subsidy of Rs 4,000 per acre from next year onwards, Anil Kumar explained. Polasa senior scientists Dr M Venkataiah and Dr T Kiran Babu explained the farmers about the various types of diseases that may cause harm to the standing crops and using of best suitable pesticides to prevent them.

Agriculture department Additional Director P Pradeep Kumar, Mandal Agriculture Officer K Venkatramamma, agriculture officers E Anitha, G Venkatesh, V Vamshi Kumar, K Sandeep, B Angaiah, B Sridhar Rao, M Umapathi, B Santhosh, K Tirupathi and Dr N Anji Reddy were present along with others.
