Farmer committees will uplift agri sector: Eatala Rajender

Speaking at the programme, the Minister said that the State government had designed a project to benefit the farmers. Under this project, each farmer will be provided Rs 4,000 per acre as an investment for one crop for taking up agricultural activities. For successful implementation of this scheme, Farmer Coordination Committees are being formed at village, mandal, district and State-levels.

These committees will coordinate with all farmers and support them in getting maximum price for their produce. The formation of the committees will be completed by September 9, giving equal importance to all communities.

At village level, the committee will have 15 members, including five women members. At mandal level, the committee will have 24 members including eight women members along with one coordinator. The district committee will be formed comprising all mandal-level committees, with the District Collector as the Nodal Officer, the Minister explained.

Training will be given to the members of the committees from September 14.

The State treasury will sanction about Rs 500 crores directly to the State Farmer Coordination Committees. The committee will also provide loans to the farmers. All the farmers present in the villages must utilise this scheme and must transform their village like Ankapur village of Nizamabad district, Eatala requested the farmers.

The TRS government to fulfil its aim of developing the farming sector, has been providing uninterrupted power supply, irrigation water, fertilisers and minimum support price for the produce and the like.

The government had overcome the power problems in the State within six months of assuming power and has been supplying 24-hour continuous power to farming sector.

The Minister said that the government launched Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya to supply water to the farmers across the State, for two crops and the other projects are in progress.

All most all the tanks in the State were restored under Mission Kakatiya project and all tanks were filled to their maximum levels along with increasing the underground water levels.

The farmers are provided with quality fertilisers and the government will take stringent actions against those, who were involved in selling fake seeds and fertilisers, the Minister assured.

District Library Corporation Chairman Raghuveer Singh, ZPTC Dekonda Bhumesh, District Agricultural Officer Thirumal Prasad, Sarpanch Lavanya and farmers from surrounding villages were present.
