Wanaparthy: The employees of Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) working in the Mandal Mahila Samakhya in Wanaparthy district are on an indefinite strike for the last 15 days. Staging dharna at the Dharna Chowk in Wanaparthy, the employees demanded the State government to identify them as HRA employees and ensure their salaries paid directly from SERP rather than through the outsourcing agency.

“We are on an indefinite strike for the last 15 days, but no leader is listening to us. We want the government to recognise all the employees working in the Mandal Mahila Samakhya as HRA employees and release our salaries directly from the SERP,” said an agitating employee. The employees including accountants, computer operators and attainders pledged to continue their strike and refuse to relent until the government fulfills their demands.
