Water level in Godavari touches 27 ft

Following downpour in the upstream areas of Godavari, the water level here has been rising steadily. The water level in the river has touched 27 feet on Thursday evening. It is likely to increase two to three feet. The water has reached the bathing ghats.

The district administration had deployed police personnel and expert swimmers near the river as Ganesh idols are being brought here for the immersion.
Revenue Divisional Officer P Srimannarayana Reddy told The Hans India that the water level has touched 27 feet by evening. He said that the administration would provide all facilities to conduct Ganesh immersion peacefully.
