Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra ordered all the Municipal Commissioners to take immediate measures to see that the traffic signals in all the municipalities work properly.

Mishra convened a meeting on road safety at the Collectorate here on Monday. Speaking on this occasion, Mishra said that the management of traffic signals should be done in coordination with the police officials. The signals were important to prevent the accidents as well as to control traffic. He gave suggestions to police officials, Roads and Buildings, Transport departments on road safety on National Highways and other important roads. He also suggested to arrange speed breakers on all the approach roads. He ordered the officials to paint zebra crossings on the national highways as there was no provision for construction of speed breakers on highways.

Speaking on this occasion, In-charge Deputy Transport Commissioner Siri Anand informed the Collector that the accidents were reduced for the past two months in the district, and suggested that to prevent accidents special measures should be taken on blind spots and widening of narrow bridges.

Rampachodavaram, Yetapaka ITDA Project Officers Dinesh Kumar, Abhishikt Kishore, Sub-Collectors Saikanth Varma, Vinod Kumar and Additional Joint Collector Radha Krishna Murthy participated.
