Mancherial: CPI State council secretary Chada Venkat Reddy accused the TRS government of completely failing to resolve the Lambada-Adivasi row in the State and alleged that as the government turned a deaf ear to CPI’s warnings, the issue is snowballing into a major crisis.

He sought Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s intervention for finding a lasting solution to the problem.

Addressing the media here on Sunday, Venkat Reddy said that the government had ignored his letter suggesting it to nip the crisis in the bud. Even it advised the government to remove the Lambadas from the STs’ list. The complex the problem has grown into can be gauzed by the Chief Secretary and Director-General of Police visiting the areas affected by clashes between the two groups.

Failure of the government in taking the right decision at the right time led to the cold war between the Lambadas and the Adivasis, he lamented.

Reddy called for holding an all-party meeting on the issue and immediate release of MRPS president Manda Krishna Madiga unconditionally.

The Chief Minister promised one lakh jobs to the unemployed, but claimed in his August 15th speech giving jobs to 27,000, he said adding that in fact, the government gave jobs to 7,000 jobless only.

He cautioned the State government that the fight for government jobs would not subside and announced the CPI support to the Nerella victims.

He alleged a conspiracy by the State government to weaken the Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

Former MLA Gunda Mallesh, district CPI secretary Kalaveni Sankar and other leaders Mekala Dasu and Kumaraswamy were present.
