Christmas programmes till December 31

Luxettipet: The second important church after the one in Medak in Telangana, the Luxettipet House of God (CSI), which has a historical importance, is all set to celebrate Christmas.

Committees have been set up in all villages, besides mandals, to celebrate the festival, Velvella Samuel, in-charge CSI Church, told The Hans India.

He said ‘parishudda daivaradhana’ programmes were being conducted from November 25 till January 1 in connection with XMas and the New Year festivities. The celebrations, which began on November 25 with Sopos Christmas would conclude on December 31. Every Tuesday and Friday events like ‘pasuvula paka aradhana’ and Christmas Carols were being conducted.

The Regional Christiva Jatara organised in this church in cooperation with those in Dandepalli, Jannaram and Donabanda attracts devotees from various places in this district. The pre-jatara rally of motorcycles begins in Kagaznagar touching Bellampally, Ramakrishnapur, Mandamarri, Mancherial. Rallyists also take off from Utnoor travelling via Utnoor, Jannaram, Dandepalli.

The jatara takes off under the leadership of the Bishop of Medak mandal in the presence of priests from various districts. On the second day of the jatara, Easter Sunrise Aradhana was organised on the hill located on the church premises. During the two days, cultural programmes were conducted from 10 pm onwards. Devotees believe that those, who offer prayers during the jatara, would get their wishes fulfilled.
