Narayanguda: The eight-day 'Pochampally IKAT Art Mela 2017' began here recently. The expo features eco-friendly handloom products. It was inaugurated by Tollywood actress Megana.
Speaking after the inauguration, the actress said, “I am glad to see various apparel, particularly designer fabrics, Ikat silk and cotton sarees, showcased for the fashion connoisseurs in the city.”
Devender Chairman and Lava Kumar Director of Pochampally Handloom Park said, “Handlooms are part of an age old Indian tradition element of culture and rich artistry. By promoting handlooms, we support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations.” The expo will continue till December 30 from 10am to 9pm.
