Observing World Disabled Week, from December 3 to 10, various programmes are being conducted by Sweekaar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences. On day one, students from Sweekaar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences and Devanar School for Blind participated in different events conducted at Sweekaar. The observance of this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) provided an opportunity to raise awareness of disability as a cross-cutting development issue. The theme of this year's commemoration was ‘Sustainable Development: The promise of technology’.

Throughout the week Sweekaar will be conducting several awareness programmes and free screening camps for mentally ill children and adults; for speech and hearing problems for all age groups; for children with developmental delays and autistic children
