Visakhapatnam: Now one can make the tongue a virtual testing laboratory that will diagnose health condition. All one has to do, is to take a selfie of tongue, upload it and get the diagnosis on the internet.

Rhythms Of Life, a global start up consortia that is leveraging the vast knowledge of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unanni,Sidha, Homeopathy and Chinese Traditional medicine based wellness solutions), has added a new dimension to healthcare by developing a unique cloud-based diagnostic intelligence system. The pioneers of this field are Dr Darshan Shankar and Sam Pitroda, who is also the co-founder of The Rhythms of Life.

At first, using the ancient Chinese system of classification, it will assess one’s overall health condition and recommend foods and exercises to improve it. Next they will add the traditional Indian assessment and many other capabilities to give people a fantastic health and wellness management tool, says Prad Sabharwal, CEO and co-founder of Rhythms of Life.

He said the tongue is an amazing organ and the ancient medical systems in China and India divide the tongue into 7 regions representing various organs of the body. Next the colour, cracks, and distribution and thickness of the layer of coating on tongues tells them both about current condition of the organs as well as any developing early signs.

Sabharwal said the system, using complex pattern recognition algorithms, neural networks and artificial intelligence integrated with thousands of years of knowledge in the Chinese and Indian medical systems', will provide a quick diagnosis of one’s health. While not a substitute for a lab tests, this capability can be very useful as a feedback and preventive tool for most of the people.

During this initial phase, when the picture of the tongue is sent, they will run it through the system and see the results it produced. Then they will have a medical practitioner who is a trained specialist also look at it who will either confirm or correct the diagnosis and will send the diagnosis to the patient within seven.

When the system is ready, they will give an app for free and patients can assess their condition easily and immediately everyday for no extra charge. The Rhythms of Life is a start up consortia of reputed organizations, which are contributing their knowledge, expertise and human resources to the mission of wellness.
