Chandigarh/New Delhi: In two months time, Yoga Guru Ramdev, whose Patanjali Ayurved Limited has introduced an array of Ayurvedic products in the market, will launch a healthy alternative of Maggi and noodles.

Over the issue of ban on Maggi noodles and some other products coming under the lens of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the Yoga teacher on Tuesday said, “Recently, we launched cornflakes and they are better and cheaper than Kellogg’s.”

Ramdev said that he would launch an alternative of Maggi in two months and within a month, Powervita will be launched as an alternative of Bournvita and Horlicks, he said. In another development, business conglomerate ITC has decided to remove the ‘no added MSG’ from its instant noodles, sold under Sunfeast Yippee brand.

According to the company, under the Food Safety Standards Act, if a manufacturer adds MSG (Monosodium glutamate) to its product, then only the quantum of MSG has to be declared.

“Therefore, ITC is voluntarily taking steps to remove the phrase ‘no added MSG’ from its labels in its new batches of packaging and consumers should ignore this on the current packaging. ITC would like to once again assure consumers that MSG is not added to Sunfeast YiPPee! Noodles,” ITC said.
