To spread awareness and encourage its students and staff for blood donation, The NorthCap University, Gurgaon (http://www.ncuindia.edu/) organized a Blood Donation Camp in the University Campus.The camp conducted with the assistance of medical staff and attendants of Rotary Blood Bank Gurgaon, was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor, Brig. SK Sharma (Retd) and Registrar, Col Bikram Mohanty (Retd).

For the selfless service, many students of the University did volunteer service the whole day and encouraged their fellow students for blood donation. Students of the University queued up for this noble cause and faculty and staff members of the University turned up at the camp for service to the society.Many of the students were first time donors who came forward to join hands in this noble mission. Over 250 donors were registered by the end of the day.

The donors went through a series of medical checkups before donating blood and were given refreshments, a memento and a certificate of appreciation for this service to humanity. The University regularly conducts this event in partnership with Rotary Club, Gurgaon with the desire to spread a culture of community support and bring about dedicated services for the upliftment of society.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Brig. SK Sharma (Retd) said, “Donating blood for those in distress is a noble service. I am happy to see the response of our students and faculty who have made our endeavours of service to society a success. The University believes in conducting such events regularly with a desire to spread smiles and bring about outstanding and dedicated services rendered for the upliftment of society.”

Harshit, 3rd year student of BTech CSE, donated blood for the first time. He felt excited after the donation and said that he would continue donating blood regularly. Rashika, another student of 3rd year BTech CSE said, “It is really nice to be a part of this camp. It gives satisfaction and pleasure to serve others in whatever possible ways we can.”
