Cell therapy for knee and hip problems
Dr Vijay Kishore Kondreddy, consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, has said that Apollo in partnership with Regrow have launched a new generative cell therapy for knee and hip problems. Speaking to media in Tirupati on Sunday, he said Regrow works on stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine. Two new products Chondron and Ossron have been introduced through this association.

Speaking to media in Tirupati on Sunday, he said Regrow works on stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine. Two new products Chondron and Ossron have been introduced through this association.
He explained that Chondron ACI, the country’s first cell therapy helps treat defect in the cartilage in the joints and recently granted market authorisation by the Union Health Ministry and Drug Controller General of India. It is recommended for the patients of 16-65 years of age group. He said the procedure starts with 100-200 mg of cartilage drawn from the patient.
It is then sent to temperature controlled lab, where chondrocyte is drawn from the cartilage and cultured for 3-4 weeks.
