Hyderabad: The rising chess sensation from Hyderabad, R Raja Rithvik, has done it again. Adding yet another feather to his cap by aggregating 5.5 points from seven rounds, the seventh standard student of Orchids International School in Jubilee Hills here did the nation proud by winning the Under-11 Blitz silver medal in the Asian Schools Chess Championship-2015, under the aegis of Asian Chess Federation, at Nanyang Technological University Sports & Recreation Centre in Singapore on Thursday.


Candidate Master Raja Rithvik, presently having an Elo rating of 1743, dominated the final round game against Mongolian Tengis Ochir. However, he had to settle for silver as the match ended in a draw. More than 100 contenders from India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Lanka, Uzbekistan, Bangla, UAE, Mongolia and Philippines participated in the event.


Meanwhile, Rithvik is also participating in the Classical chess format of Asian Chess tournament which will conclude on June 8. He is undergoing advanced coaching and training at Cyber Chess Academy under the mentorship of International Master Lanka Ravi.
