Encouragement for children’s films, vital

Discussing the importance of screening of children’s films at large in the state of Telangana, a jury interaction took place at the Media Centre, Prasad’s IMAX on Thursday. The members on the panel were film directors Nagabala Suresh Kumar and Allani Sridhar, as well as Veda Kumar and Acharya Chakravarthula.

It was discussed that for an educative medium such as cinema, films should be screened not just in cities, but also in towns and villages. Further, they spoke about the possibility of introducing more film appreciation workshops and classes that would encourage youngsters to learn the art.

During the interaction, the idea of allotting the weekend mornings to the screening of children’s films was considered. Dr Shravan Kumar, CEO CFSI who later joined the panel said, “Wherever you are based, if you have a good film, we are willing to support you.”
