General health and eye check-up camp organised for truck drivers
Pernod Ricard India Charitable Foundation (PRICF) in association with the Telangana State Beverages Corporation Ltd (TSBC) organised an eye testing and general health check-up camp for truck drivers to augment importance of road safety recently at the TSBC, IML Depot in Amberpet at Hayathnagar.

The recipients availed the benefits of free eye and health check-up amenities which included blood pressure and sugar test along with giving access to free medicines with the consultation of certified team from the doctors belonging to Yashoda hospitals and eye specialists from Goutami Netralaya. They checked the drivers and even provided prescription for eyeglasses to those who needed it. In addition to this, to cope with the scorching heat, uv400 sunglasses were also distributed to all the attendees of the camp.
Reiterating the company’s firm commitment to road safety, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Pernod Ricard India Sunil Duggal said, “We at Pernod Ricard India Charitable Foundation firmly believe in the cause of responsible drinking and road safety. Our aim is to spread awareness and drive the right messages that will promote healthy lifestyle throughout the country. We have successfully touched 11,000 lives so far and will continue to undertake such activities for the benefit of the community.”
Commenting on the occasion, Commissioner of prohibition and state excise of Telangana Dr RV Chandravadan said, “Welfare of the community is of prime importance to us. We completely support Pernod Ricard India charitable foundation’s CSR initiative to promote road safety. We hope this camp sets an example for the truck drivers for being a responsible driver and a responsible citizen.”
Adding onto this affair, additional commissioner for excise dept T Prasad said, “We are extremely glad to be a part of such a noble initiative of the foundation. They are doing great work in association with some of Telangana’s best doctors and we hope that the team continues with this initiative and positively impacts many lives.”
For a long time now, Pernod Ricard India has been driving its CSR initiatives that promote road safety, responsible drinking and a clean and healthy lifestyle especially in the rural areas. This camp in Telangana is a continuation of a CSR programme undertaken by PRICF to provide health care facilities to the truck drivers across the country.
Till date the company organized fifteen health camps in New Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Maharashtra benefitting more than 11,000 truck drivers.
