Silver Jubilee celebration of Veg Iftar!
At almost every Iftar party in the twin cities, and perhaps in most parts of the state, an Iftar usually comprises of dates, cut-fruits and juices and is incomplete without a platter of non-veg delicacies, the king of which is Haleem.
At almost every Iftar party in the twin cities, and perhaps in most parts of the state, an Iftar usually comprises of dates, cut-fruits and juices and is incomplete without a platter of non-veg delicacies, the king of which is Haleem. However, one particular Iftar subdues the irresistible urge of Haleem and non-vegan foods with its vegetarian delights.
Breaking against the tradition, city based structural engineer, Basharath, celebrates silver jubilee of Daawat-e-Iftar a vegetarian Iftar party organised by him since 1991 at Rajdhani Hotel in Siddiambar bazar, The Iftari includes dates, fruits, onion pakoras, rajasthani besan wali mirch, stuffed vegetable rolls and dahi vada etc,. and refreshing beverages like sweet lassi and fruit shake.
The Iftar meal has desserts like gajar ka halwa and gulab jamun which completes the meal. Many known personalities from the city including Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau AK Khan, Philanthropist Ghiasuddin Babukhan, Ziauddin Nayyarare are among the regular attendees of this Iftar.
