Tech savvy dentists awarded

The two day Digital Dental International Conference, being held for the first time in India and hosted by Digital Dental International Asian Society & Digital Dentistry Europe, concluded on Sunday at Shilpakala Vedika. Awards were presented to the winners of the Digital Poster Competition by Dr Mahendranadh Reddy, President, AP State Dental Council and Dr Yellamma Bai, Principal, Malla Reddy Dental College.

Over 2500 delegates from all parts of the country and 20 delegates from abroad attended the conference, which was inaugurated by ESL Narsimhan, Governor of TS and AP. Digital Dentistry involves using computer designing with the help of highly evolved softwares to perform dental treatments and create dental prosthesis.

This digital technology encompasses all aspects of dental care like record keeping, documentation, diagnosis, treatment planning, prosthesis fabrication, surgical planning and guidance. Some of the latest technology in the field include 3D Scanning, Cone beam CT, MRI, CAD CAM fabrication, 3D printing, Metal printing, Computer assisted Guided surgery, Robotic surgery etc.

Due to it is growing popularity dental practitioner are fast adopting the technology and the patients are benefitted by the improved consistence, quality and cost effective treatments.
