A celebration of Hindi
The State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) celebrated ‘Hindi Day’ recently. Dr Alok Pandey, Professor, Hindi Dept, Hyderabad Central University presided over the event in which members of the bank including Managing Director Santanu Mukherjee along with CGMs V Viswanathan, DV Suresh Kumar participated. Other senior functionaries were also present on this occasion.

Dr Pandey pointed out the similarities between Indian languages and said that all of those originated from Sanskrit and therefore there is similarity of vocabulary among them. He emphasised the need for increased use of Hindi and regional languages in our day-today transactions.
THe MD exhorted all bank officials to use Hindi and regional languages. He also mentioned that the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Banks) , Hyderabad was awarded the Second Prize by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language.
Later, competitions were conducted during the Hindi fortnight among students of various schools, colleges and Osmania University as well as the employees of SBH, Head Office and Gunfoundry Branch and prizes were given away to the winners.
