Hyderabad-based designer Gaurang Shah presented ‘Kausalyam 2016’- a high-end couture show of designers and master craftsmen who work closely with the weavers at the grass root level in association Crafts Council of Telangana. 

Hyderabad-based designer Gaurang Shah presented ‘Kausalyam 2016’- a high-end couture show of designers and master craftsmen who work closely with the weavers at the grass root level in association Crafts Council of Telangana.

Gaurang Shah is widely acknowledged for the revival of the Jamdani weaving technique, and he works with a team of 700+ highly skilled weavers. The aim of the show was to promote Indian textiles and handicrafts from all corners of the country and it featured a uniquely choreographed fashion show by top 10 Indian Models highlighting clothing from 40 textile artists and designers.

About the fashion show, Gaurang said, “This show reflects the continuation of our passion for promoting skill, technique and technology up-gradation of designers and weavers, who pursue the creation of Indian Handlooms at the grass root level. Our focus is to provide marketing opportunities for artisans, understanding the craft and the changing needs of the consumers.”
