Hyderabad has never disappointed when it comes to elaborate cosplay. And this year was no different at Hyderabad Comic Con (HCC) at Hitex. There were costumes from iconic comic book characters at the tw-day event and the people of the city took to the platform to show their love for characters from television series, games and even movies.

The most sighted character was of course, the Joker from the Batman series. Many people took up the avatar while some came with their partners dressed as Harley Quinn. Amrutha Lawrence, a city girl who came dressed as Harely Quinn says, “The reason I picked to dress as Harely Quinn was because she is someone to whom I relate. She is a negative character that sometimes plays positive, too.” The girl was accompanied by her friend, Sayed who was dressed as Joker.

The event also had anime characters and iconic representations from Play Station games. Predy Das came dressed as ‘Bloater’ from PS3 game ‘The last of us’. According to Das, the character is one that is the toughest to kill and he chose to attend as, what he calls, ‘The best Villain’ of all times.

Bringing forth Indian representation was Bahuballi’s Promotion team who came with one man dressed in Bahubali’s royal attire. On a goofier note, three boys, Harsha, Chandan and Sudheer came as three charecters from the Malayalam movie, ‘Premam’. Says Chandan, “It is usual to see the characters from superhero movies here. So, we thought of bringing in ‘Indianess’ to this international platform.”
