More than 250 women sporting enthusiasts from Telangana participated in a two-day tournament, which concluded at ORO Sports Village in Shankarpalli on Sunday. The ‘Pink Ribbon Tournament’ was organised by Usha Lakhsmi Breast Cancer Foundation (UBF). The Tournament was inaugurated by Dr Ushalakshmi, Founder Chairman of UBF; Dr P Raghuram, CEO of UBF; Pallam Raju, Former Union Defence Minister; M Anand, CEO, ORO Sports and Abhijit, Founder of Hotshot.

The aims of the event were two fold. First, it sought to emphasise the importance of early detection of breast cancer. The second was to encourage outdoor sports among women and underline the importance of physical activity, which can prevent many non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension and cancer.

Women from all over the city including Corporates like Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Colleges like St Ann's, St Francis, Bhavans, Shloka School and State champions like Hyderabad Titans, Secunderabad Rangers, Telangana Tigers and other teams participated in multiple sporting events – badminton, basketball, football, volleyball, throwball and table tennis.
