As part of ‘World Leprosy Day’, NTPC Ltd joined hands with Lepra Society and organised a ‘Leprosy Awareness Walk’ to in the city recently. Flagged off by Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, the event saw participation of names like former Indian hockey team captain, N Mukesh Kumar, actor Prakash Raj and NTPC Regional Executive Director (South) VB Fadnavis.
Delivering the opening address, Chairman of Lepra Society, Rukmini Rao stated that the disease is curable and one need not indulge in stigmatising or shaming of the affected.
